What does "walihu" mean?
In eastern mysticism, "wali" is the quality of turning toward someone with deep intimacy and friendship. It is a sense of being held by the Beloved. "Hu" is the essence of Love, which is as close to you as your own breath. I created walihu.com to help you befriend yourself with this clarity of heart and mind.
Kindfulness Guide
Rafia Rebeck
My journey started long ago.
As a child, I would play "psychiatrist," inviting people to "tell me all their problems." And they would. I suppose I have always known how to listen deeply.
In my early 20s, I encountered mindfulness and began a long journey of cultivating self-awareness. I have had the good fortune of amazing therapists and teachers who helped me develop my compassion.
I have worn many hats in this life . . . editor, teacher, administrator, housecleaner . . . but mindfulness-based psychotherapy is where I found my home.
After nearly 10 years in clinical practice, I have come to understand the direct correlation between the way we relate to ourselves and ALL aspects of our well-being. I want to help as many people as I can to cultivate their own inner kindness. So I developed www.walihu.com as a way of making quality support affordable, accessible, and engaging.
